The browser that runssearch on your Mac.
A native macOS browser with a SearXNG instance that runs locally on your machine — no accounts, no tracking, no telemetry. The privacy lives in the architecture, not in a policy you have to trust.
The real app, one scene at a time.
Click the chapters below to explore the real app — private search, Google-clean results, Grokipedia knowledge cards, the built-in wallet, and Tor browsing.
Search that never leaves your Mac.
A real SearXNG instance runs locally — one click, no terminal. The thing that knows what you're looking for is the thing you own.
Not just another private browser.
Most 'private' browsers still send your data somewhere. Searxly doesn't.
The engine runs on your Mac — not someone else's server.
Every other "private" search still ships your query to a company that promises to behave. Searxly removes the company. One click spins up a real SearXNG instance on your own machine — built right into the app — pulls from many engines, and de-duplicates and ranks the results on-device, so the only thing that ever learns what you searched is hardware you own.
- ✓One-click deploy — strong secret auto-generated, premium theme, ready in seconds
- ✓Aggregated from many engines, de-duplicated and ranked on your device
- ✓No query logs, no ad auction, no profile — there's no server in the middle
- ✓Grokipedia knowledge cards plus image, video and news results — all private
A metasearch engine that asks for you — so no one can build a "you."
SearXNG is a free, open-source metasearch engine: instead of you visiting Google or Bing, it queries dozens of engines on your behalf, blends the results, and hands them back. Running it on your own Mac turns that into real anonymity — here's the actual mechanism, not a privacy promise.
It searches on your behalf
You never touch Google, Bing, Brave or DuckDuckGo directly — your instance queries them and merges the answers. They only ever see a request from SearXNG, with no account, no cookie, and no history attached. Every search is a clean slate, so there's no profile of "you" to build.
It carries no identity
No tracking cookies, no fingerprinting headers, and queries are sent by POST so they never sit in a URL or a referrer. Tracking parameters are stripped from every result link, and image & video thumbnails are proxied through SearXNG — so the sites you preview never get a direct hit from your browser.
You own the instance
A public SearXNG still asks you to trust an operator not to keep logs. Searxly removes that trust entirely: the instance runs locally, bound to localhost and marked non-public, so the "server" holding your queries is hardware you control. Nothing to log, leak, or subpoena.
Mask your IP, too
Because it runs on your machine, your own connection makes the final hop to each engine. Route SearXNG's outgoing traffic over Tor — with remote DNS and pluggable-transport bridges — so even that hop can't be tied back to you, or bring your own trusted VPN. In Searxly Maximum, Tor is always on and fail-closed.
When “private” isn’t enough.
A locked-down, 100%-local edition: always-on Tor, a fail-closed kill switch, per-tab circuits, fingerprint scrambling, amnesic browsing and anti-forensics — with every off-device feature removed. Engineered harder, for less than half the price.
Privacy you can verify, not just trust.
Most “private” browsers still route your search through someone else's servers. Searxly removes the middleman, then hardens every layer around it — click any one to see the mechanism.
A self-custody wallet, native to the browser.
Real BIP-39 / BIP-32 keys, generated and encrypted on your device. Multi-chain across five EVM networks. Connect to dApps with origin-bound approvals and a built-in phishing guard — and give every site its own address so they can't be linked.
- ✓Your keys never leave the device — ever
- ✓Five EVM chains, one recovery phrase
- ✓Rotating per-dApp addresses for unlinkability
- ✓Import keys, watch-only accounts, price alerts
Agentic tools for your own local AI.
Searxly doesn't run the AI — you do. It exposes private web search, page reading and real browser actions as tools your own local model can call over the Model Context Protocol. Your model, your machine, nothing sent to any AI company.
